Pelicans On The Bayou in New Iberia, Louisiana was a Local favorite for years. Trying times caused it’s previous ownership to shut its doors. Recently the famed restaurant on the banks of the Bayou Teche got a second chance at life. After considerable buzz surrounding its opening, We decided to see what all the fuss was about. Upon arriving you notice immediately, a warm inviting atmosphere, and the scent of good southern style cooking. The staff is friendly, and very helpful. After being seated and taking a look at a very diverse menu. I decided to ask the waitress what she recommended. She recommended a few things. Personally, I felt that the comfortable environment called for some comfort food. I read all over the Internet articles about burgers. At the risk of adding to the pile, I ordered a burger. It took quite a while to get, however it was completely worth the wait. This burger was cooked to perfection, served dressed to order. This burger was seasoned to near perfection. The price point was extremely competitive with just about every “home style” restaurant around. Along with the great food, and friendly atmosphere.
Live music can be heard filling the air on weekends. Overall I give them 4 out of 5 Stars. Go check them out on the bank of the Bayou Teche, in beautiful downtown New Iberia.
